TECHNICALLY, there was nothing illegal done to warrant a locked status, as Paul has stated on many similar occasions -- Scamming is impossible in this game.
Items once bought, by any means whatsoever, become the property of the purchaser, and he can do whatever he wants with those items.
Items transferred through the guild vault will also become the property of the recipient, as is clearly stated in the vault disclaimer.
However -- the matter of TRUST that has been so egregiously disregarded here, should warrant shunning of the miscreant by the entire community.
This is a very difficult form of punishment to enforce, as it would entail the co-operation of the entire LS community for it to be effective.
All I can advise you guys is to make doubly sure of the people you loan//xfer gear to in your guilds.

I agree, but I don't foresee anything changing. The only thing I foresee is that things like this will happen repeatedly until something is done to rectify this "loophole"
