That sir is a very ignorant answer.

Here is one scenario that i am curious about:

If you get to fight "Soften the Sneaky Shell", who is THE boss of all mobs and lets say he has an avg def of 250, then you would do almost no dmg with your sword,
except in those situations when you hit the upper end of your weapons range or critical hit, while you still do a fair amount of dmg with the polearm, even without the
need of a critical hit.

In such a situation the polearm would be the preferred choice right?

Not really think about it. you'll want to upgrade correct??? im pretty sure that 95% of people here upgrade the same weapon. @ lvl 40 i can get a 200% sword. yet im not even sure there is a polearm above 140%

@lvl 55 i can get a sword @ 250% and your still waking away with your 118 lvl 30 polearm or a 75%-100% lvl 55 one.

this is pretty much irrelivant to the whole quest we all know swords are easy to get alot of them out there

It's not a theory, it's a painfully obvious fact.

The sword's EE is much much higher and it hits 2x as often as the polearm. No slight advantage a heavy may otherwise have is going to make up for that EE difference.
