I think if lot of new players came and were looking to actually spend fg on items, szsz would be like the only 1 profiting with all this 100ee daggers he got and axes

New players can't afford his items

I think the moment a bunch of people decided to start playing, prices would go sky high, but eventually balance back out.

I think a good portion of the new players (assuming they would invest) would have a difficult time getting their hands on mid-tier gear because the supply is currently low, therefore driving up the price due to the demand.

Eventually you'd see a ton more items drop (because more people slashing means more mobs being killed per hour means more chances of drops) and the prices would level out.

Well new players would bring tons of GG gear since LS has the "welcome back" mechanic in the drop algorithm. Or so I've heard from Pick :)

Between his and inkarnon's prices, you are right.

This is damn near a legit thing. New people tend to have a better chance to drop and snag a high ass item, as opposed to those of us who play every day. Seen it alot myself.

There's shitloads of good items on dead accounts, if all of them suddenly come back just to sell out, prices will drop by 5 times.
But if they haven't sold out when they left the site, they probably won't sell now either, even if by some miracle they come back.

There are almost no good items for trade, if a lot of new people came they'd be forced to use really low/mediocre gear if they want to play
If this new player base wants to use good/high item, prices will go up like crazy... there's hardly enough gear to even support current players :D

Theres a BOAT LOAD of gear thats lost on accounts that will never be logged into again. Currently, theres hardly enough gear to support a big boost of new players.

Make the offer worth it for these dead accounts to come back and sell ;)

That's not true actually, because you have to keep in mind that 1 person needs an absolute bare minimum of 10 items to play.

If 20 new people start playing and every single one of them drops a 190+ ee item + another 190+ ee or 50 + stat item, sure they could make a great profit, but if they want to be efficient and/or upgrade their gear, the game would require 20x lvl 25/30/35//45/55 etc weapons + stat/tank armors/charms + more, there would be nowhere near enough items for new players, unless they want to use 100 ee clubs/swords + 40 stat charms and only be able to play a feeder. There is no way they could farm so many different tiers of good items.

I don't want them to come back and I don't care about their items, that's the problem. If anything their characters/vaults should get deleted after a certain time has passed.
Why should I spend so much time searching and encouraging some random people that have played the game 10+ years ago and have 10s of times less playing time than me to come back?
Why not make it easier to get new items now instead of pming dead accounts?

Probably because back in the day I actually had to work hard to accomplish anything in this game and couldn't rely on others to carry me.

Nothing is forcing you to spend all of this time searching for items. If you did, you'd just have better gear.

Were you also in favor of deleting 08 valk's just because you didn't have one?

You had to work hard and couldn't rely on others to carry you.. :) :)

I can guarantee you there are VERY few people that have struggled as much as I have in ladder slasher, which is supported by more than just 1 facts.

I wasn't in favor of deleting 08 valks, Blizzard was. Lots of 08 valks/bugbelts prepatch boots and so on were long lost when I started playing and continued to get lost when I was last active in D2, BECAUSE you can't just leave your account and not log in it for 15 years, then one day decide to log back and it's all sitting there waiting for you.

When I started, I was practically using a 2x4 to fight monsters and multiplayer wasn't a thing. If you struggled when you started, you would have not done well in 07/08 haha.

I guess I just don't understand why you're against someone coming back and introducing an item back into the community that is extremely rare.

The drop rates are exceedingly rare and people need multiple sets. I think having more people play would just increase demand for mid level gear which is already too thin to support community growth
