iirc Ambush! was the first objective that was nerfed years ago.

Groups would have one player leave before last mob died.
That player would therefore not complete the objective, and could make a new game with the ambush objective still active for the others to join and hunt out a new Ambush!

Some sort of clock or counter was added to make Ambush! only show up after you were deep into a maze.

Since then there have been many other nerfs to stop people from farming objectives & maps.
It's rather odd Paul seems to fear people exploiting the game but in most cases the "exploit" was not worth the time investment.
The fixes did not remove an unfair advantage but rather just deleted an alternative play style that gave the game more variety.
The most recent where you secretly fail certain objectives when you leave a game while they are spawned is just downright annoying. (It has a slight upside for players perma dodge Sneaky or Shamans when they can't kill.)

this will be annoying especially when sneaky spawns on melee character...leave game to transfer caster gear to kill it...rejoin and kill it with xfered caster gear but u don't get the objective and can't spawn it again to complete it

/e makes sneaky basically impossible for melee chars... unless they're permanently devoting some inventory space for caster gear to swap to, paying fg to store caster gear in vault, or dependent on others online coming to the rescue and killing for them while they sit back and deal no dmg themselves
