What about wells? Is it the level of the item that affects the strength of the monster or is it the level of the well?
Basically just trying to figure out if I should save wellables until a high level or just wait to pick up white items until I get to a higher level

wells are found in the catacombs now rare and at random. the well monster is typically about 5 levels higher than the item you drop in so myself i typically try and well items within -5 to par level that i am at. the number of wells variates as well. you could come across a well that is a 1 and done, or get one that lasts for more than 100 items..

Think most of your questions got answered.

#2... I basically only play solo Guardian as feeder for the Heavy Weapon profs. (Heal Mastery nerf killed things, you are better off with your EE heal charm in main slot if you are not relying on Str/Dex charm for damage).

If you are going solo, I would suggest Guardian / Barb (you know I am nuts, and would add intelligence to a barb ... base to 30 or 50 depending on your Heal Charm... mind you I use +int armor with 0 EE).

If using 0 EE armor and only stat plate/chain ... Salvation / Retribution (Guardian / Barb).
If you have not done a Master Quest with your character and solo, you will encounter 1-2 normal / 1 EP maximum. To get around this, you type /set easy 0 (this disables this and then you will be able to encounter 1-3 normal and EP waves)

You pretty much have a handle on everything from previous playing, the game is pretty much smoother and easier... you can whistle dixie all day if you don't feel like exploring.

/set easy /set easy [1|0] This feature determines how many monsters spawn when you are playing solo. In easy mode, only 1-2 regular monsters will spawn, and only 1 evil presence at a time. Regular mode is 1-3 monsters or evil presences. This feature is enabled by default until you complete your first Master Quest of the current season. This only works from level 1 to 71. This does not save between character changes/logouts. You must re-issue this command as desired if you change characters or logout.
To see your current single player mode: /set easy
To enable: /set easy 1
To disable: /set easy 0

woah.. how did i miss that update? lmao.. i was thinking a few days ago that theres so many categories i never use or flood with other stuff that itd be nice to re-name.. someone else clearly mentioned that idea and it got pushed through ty for sharing this one
