yeah I have 168 life ee axe 300 life plate and 110 hp dual stat charm have over 700 lvl 1

I noticed if I well a item that is far out of my range I can have it spawn two rows of items fairly often me @lvl 25 welling a lvl 40 item for example.

I even wanted to put together a competition for teams welling the highest lvl items with lowest lvl teams just to have fun and see the drops.


Also I have seen item side drops one tier higher then the welled item very often even at low lvls compared to the white item. So I am not sure if your lvl matters at all for the lvl of side drops only thing that matters is the item dropped in to determine the well boss lvl.

Here is something you have NOT encountered, so I am going to use a REAL situation that happened on HC years ago, and I still have the charm that I have lent to a guild member.

5 man group, came across a well (this was when bridging was used, not the edit/create group people are accustomed to), all but one had completed all their whites in the well, and one member (out of 5) dropped in a LEVEL 45 Earth charm (we are all around level 35 at the time)... one hit killed the person dropping the item into the well, I healed others as they exited the catacomb and just about died... other members left game to bring in their high level characters... and yup... 16x% Enhanced Effect level 45 earth charm dropped (main item dropped into the well). Basically, you are asking for trouble welling 10 levels above your character level... but hey, it hardly ever happens right. Goodluck in your competition.

for hc yes but for sc this might be a good tactic

That's a scary situation on hc. The competition or even just a group attempting hard wells idea was more so for softcore I don't think people would try that on hc but never know.

Yes.

Generally 57-64ish would be best bet

85 you won’t get any side drops pretty much, at all.

Higher level will affect that.

i typically try to well items that are 5 lvls lower than my current character level. eg; im lvl 40 on a char, i well lvl 35's and down.. welling same level/tier items or one higher depending on your gear i find yeilds the best drops period. however difficult and typically costs more shrineables than the drop is worth ( in most cases).

personally i havnt noticed any benefit to magic luck gear as i rarely if ever get a "good" drop regardless. having tested both ways with/without magic luck gear.
