The thing is, LS isn't a "pick up and go" game. Where anyone can play and quickly be good/solid/useful. The gear is too expensive, and rarely ever drops. It's one of the only games I've ever played in which absolutely perfect gear does not exist, not now not ever. That's one thing that keeps people from playing. Well, if they start, they quickly learn and stop playing. /rant.

Funny, because this exactly is reason why I play it :) And I love HC much much more couse it does not have unspawn stuff and when u die, you loose all - so yeah hard to gather stuff but this is beauty of game.

I think the biggest thing that would attract new people to ls is the possibility of having a custom star if they reset .

The original idea to the profile sword was as a star. But they decided to go profile instead . A sword as a star would make people ask how they got it and give more people an incentive (I think) to try and get their own

Yes having it next to your name instead like a star would make people curious and want it to!

Because we all know its all about appearance and look cool here on jsp :D B)

I read the replies, so, the following may have merit for all posts before this. (Hey, only ideas trying to compliment those that have been mentioned.)

#1 Ladder Slasher Link should always appear highlighted for any user (previous/current/new) to D2jsp that has NOT played Ladder Slasher or clicked the link? (this may need some more input).

#2 Orb / Sword / etc icon could be ONLY Ladder Slasher available for Resetting LS, or the orb/sword or whatever icon appears when you have SUCCESSFULLY unlocked certain characters (hey, maybe the orb or sword color changes, but NEVER resets when that core has reset... needs more input).

I hope people can add on to this... how to attract more player base is a good thing on BOTH cores.
