Same thing happened to me. I had to ask for help from the guild cuz I was getting slapped hitting 0s and all low numbers unless a crit. Which was less than 400. when I was using 150+ str and 170ee 55 sword..
I thought it had to be a magic thing like sneaky but wasn't sure.

Hey mate! Hmm... I don't remember what the other two monsters were, but the first I killed and the only one I attacked for a while was wind o shade... and it was already taking 326 damage crits (exactly, everytime) from the start. This is the main thing I want an answer to... thanks all for confirming the melee damage reduction of ambush though.



That would be really weird if it was based on swords/longswords... but then again, this is LS so you really can't know anything for sure without testing

that reversed power shot thing seems really interesting... my weapon min here was 152 damage... it doesn't really double into 326 damage even ignoring armor... but maybe the tooltip values are a bit off like they are for axes? Haven't really paid enough attention to know.

Ambush lowers your max damage to your minimum range at times. Not really sure why that is not always the case though. So if the lower range of your weapon is very low, as in swords, you may find yourself chipping away at them for a long time.

200 ee longsword gonna do plenty of damage might as well stack life ^^

Ahh okay that makes sense then! I guess the minimum on longswords or maybe all swords is also higher than the tooltip then... otherwise crits should have been 305 or less TY for this answer; I had no idea!




Haha, thanks for the vote of confidence bhBc, but actually that's not the reason lol. The reason is that I was trying to hit participation Bigheaded's Christmas prof competition, but I didn't even slash enough to hit 15k

Too bad I have more of a life and therefore did fewer clicks and therefore also less prof

Ambush has always had a higher Defense vs Melee attacks... so casting will slaughter them like Sneaky.

As for the identical crit hits 326(?) I haven't a clue, also you are using a HEAVY weapon and a lot of the posts are referring to Swords or casting... yes, I have come across this on occasions, even @ level 70+ Bush ... that defense, 0 hit frequency using LSwrd... not sure really, but even the Warhammer had similar issues.

Did not notice any Melee Immune type monsters in group ... maybe it is a defense thing for this specific Objective like Sneaky.

I'm fighting this EP right now and it takes zero dmg unless I cast. Is this the ambush situation you are all talking about?

If this is the case, anyone on hc available to help?

If he's only taking damage from casting then that's the objective soften the sneaky shell. Immune to melee. Easiest to get a caster to come in and kill it because they have a ton of health.
