I've started playing recently, and I found this approach best so far: (I play solo only)
I think it's a bad idea to just skill and not climb or play (unless you are already high level and just buy the items off mp to mute for example) because you miss out on the regen aspect, and it's very repetitive.
Instead, I create a list of items worth skilling in the respective categories, and do those.
Like currently I'm still limited to tier 1 items for glyphing, so I collect +5 stats and +1 magic luck tier 1's and glyph those to help at later levels or when I'm welling or fighting ep (I have weak gear).
I also suffusence these for longer duration.
I collect tier 2 angelic+ for muting, since it seems quite fast and gives a big chunk of hp back later on.
Whenever I need to regen I consume cooked fish until I'm full. If I'm out of fish I go fish and cook until full.
This gives me a lot of variety, aswell as giving the most bang for the buck with skilling, since I'm only doing items that give a lot of prof, use the results even from early levels, and use the regen it gives for completion.
I have regen gear too, but I dislike shrining because of the danger of shrining your items (in just a few days I shrined 35 lvl 70 ee armor, 10 regen sword) and also find it hard to price items correctly for marketplace, I'd rather just skill everything for personal use, but that's a long way away.

I find it most eficcient with lets say 3 x +15 regen eqip and doing 1 muting per refill to full. That way u lvl up muting fastest possible while still slashing and you do not need at all fish/cook/suff/glyph. Though glyphing is really good but to get to like 30 glyphing that is just crazy.

okay lets resume a bit, you opened this topic for? selling fishes or essences or only for your "bufcore" s? asking because sooner or later you will not be concentrated enought and bye bye everthing on hc, special with low gears.

if you want here a global debate about everthing it will end in chaos and mistakes. ;)
