A spear is a label for a "Pointed Stick" and people think that certain Races used them more predominantly and Thus... you have the History of a spear in cultures, shit, a "Pointed Stick" was used to kill Dinosaurs.

Anyway, to answer OP, it would make spears OP seeing they'd have the same usability as daggers. It's the same with Ninja being unable to use longswords.


I'd really like to see more flavour with heavies though, although i'd suggest more along these lines:
Warhammer - Remove from paladin, add to HH.
Polearm - Add to monk
Spear - add to HH
Battleaxe - Fine as is.
Longsword - add to HH
