You can do the mq at any point once you hit 71 on a feeder clasa. Your gear doesnt matter for passing or failing. All that matters is how well u can guess the keys. Join a guild and just do your Master Quest already (yup, my post seems to be abrupt sorry), once you try it out for the first time, you most likely won't bother going to level 101 unless you have the gear and time to waste getting there.

Hey... either join a Guild to help you and also give your GPs to, or sell off your GP to a guild that MAY pay FG for it(them).

Look, not trying to be a dick, but sometimes people like to dick around a new player and tell them to got to 101 wasting that persons time when they could just do another MQ in the same time etc... note: don't know what gear you are rocking, I am just guessing it is not that great in comparison to some of the people that are egging you on to level 101.
