Thank you! Yeah, that was the part that I was curious about. I did quite a lot of testing with daggers back in the day when I had my old 136ee + 13 crit dagger, it went great with my 13 crit scale as well... good times. I think the most I ever tried using was 47 crit

Hmm, so if you have a 55 dex charm and one with 45 dex + 20 str, there might actually be some merit to using the one with strength add for more crits, assuming that your mq dagger has enough ee to handle the loss of dex

103str 114dex 0cs - 9% (n=9)
45str 116dex 0cs - 3.9% (n=10)

Yeah we didn't have enough data points to guess what would happen at intermediate levels of strength, but in general you should probably not stack any specific damage stat, unless you can do it without sacrificing the others. When you are high in one damage stat, adding more of the others is usually beneficial.

Daggers with high ee and you already have high dex, adding str / crit can be effective
Daggers with high ee and and you have low dex, probably better to add dex and look away from str / crit
Daggers with low ee and low dex, again probably better to add dex before looking at crit stats
Etc, etc.

For your example: "so if you have a 55 dex charm and one with 45 dex + 20 str, there might actually be some merit to using the one with strength add for more crits, assuming that your mq dagger has enough ee to handle the loss of dex "

First off, make sure you can handle not only the loss of dex by having enough ee, but also by having enough dex. Dex is not ee, but rather a factor, so if you have really low dex and a really high ee weapon, 1 dex > 1 ee, but if you have low ee and high dex, 1 ee > 1 dex, and depending on the amounts, the difference can be dramatic.

After making sure to check that box, the answer is still probably more complicated than we can answer yet, but given the right ee, dex, str, and crit strike already on the character, yes 20 str could definitely be more useful than 10 dex.

One of the biggest mistakes I made when I drank those hundreds of potions on Screened was, I saved all the strength potions. I used dagger/spear/staff that season and even though having 200 base dex is great, I basically never crit unless I was wearing a crit strike charm (which I never did because I was wearing ML). I had a lot of strength potions I coulda drunk... Oh well, maybe I'll resurrect the strongest rogue ever in a few years, this time with more than base strength

The only thing we never added in those tests was Damage numbers.

How much damage (avg) do you get with the 55 dex charm vs the 45 dex + 20 str charm? Does the % Crit Hit chance help in overall damage?

100 runs with 55 dex vs 100 runs with 45/20 dual stat ... could be a thing to check out... or maybe just Kill or hit numbers.

I meant that in a hypothetical sense :P I don't have that dual stat charm, but was just curious whether or not something like that would be favorable over a pure dex charm under the right conditions(aka. high enough gear to go with it)

Yeah, it was just a random thought that popped into my head and if I can boost my crit chance by some 3%(just throwing some random number out there) it might actually be worth it. Whether I deal 7xx - 1350 or 7xx - 1320 dmg with my dagger is not really something that is going to make a huge difference, I'm already past the point of dealing enough damage. Not sure if I would bother statting any strength, but it is certainly worth considering.

I feel like all questions about how stats in LS work are best answered with a question: "Have you seen how complicated life steal is"? and that's when we give up :D

The biggest mistake would have been to do it during the season Chestk reset it in a month :D Might as well go for mage, by far the best feeder char that can use daggers ;)
