Part of the reason hybrid-style gear is so insanely valuable is because it allows for people to start a climb one way, and finish it another.

All something like this would do is devalue hybrid gear and build styles. Voted no, but it's an interesting suggestion.

A decent suggestion with the right idea. Had you not added the part about there being a cost you would have gotten more yes votes.

Resetting stats is something people have discussed for years. Would be be nice and convenient and allow players to play less restrictively and more in a fun way? HELL YES

After being able to reset stats in d2 it made the game so much better because you didn't have to level up 3 different types of sorcs or pallies, etc. It would be a huge QOL thing that everyone would love if he added it some day, maybe in the stat window.
