Who wouldn't be fine with putting no real effort into what they want?

Hell No. Simple logic is that this would ruin it for the skillers.

You can not make Totems, Comfrey or Potions. On another note, don't want to add in another drop item into the random drop selection.

Agreed, but totems are just randomized glyphs, comfreys are just fish in essence, and potions aren't really that amazing given their bonuses poof after MQ/reroll

Potions have their place in the game. Level yourself a weller/ep hunter early in a season. Kill your character to stay at whatever level you want to farm, but have plenty of stats to get the job done.

100% man, can't agree with you more, but realistically that's their only use aside from just... levelling as high as you can go, I suppose. If something like that has been suggested before its implementation, I have a feeling it'd have been shot down pretty badly for the exact reason that its applications would be limited.

The same would go for the transmuting change as well, actually. If someone would have suggested that it too would have been shot down, even though I think it was a brilliant change.

I started skilling for essences. If they started dropping, what would even be the point of the skill?

I mean, two essences a climb wouldn't affect you at all. You could get a tier I and tier III or something. Magical. You'd still be leagues ahead with muting any items you want. That, and any high level essences found would probably be immediately used to mute an item, or thrown on the MP and sold to mute an item.
