I have unlocked Monk but I don't have any items for him so I can't play with him.
I want to solo climb hoping for some drops. I thought Fighter would be the best among the classes I have available to me :O

Play paladin.

Get a heal charm on acc slot and i use power shot first few points then add power s and salv till MQ

Is it worth assigning points into Multistrike and the other sammy abilities if I'm climbing solo? I would usually just max Powerstrike

fwiw when I solo melee (not too often) I do use stat armors until around 35/40 as it seems killing the mobs faster prevents me from taking damage to begin with. Then I switch to the tank armors to absorb more damage (its a little slower). However I have friends who solo quite often and even on melee classes they put a few pts into Salvation and run a heal charm in accessory slot. This helps to mitigate some of the trips to town to shrine up or to regen. If I had your gear I would probably try and use the stat armors as far as you can before switching to the tanks. I also agree with Cheeya about filling that armor gap (even if its slightly less EE than the previous armor the base defenses will be higher). Hope that helps a little.

edit: in reference to sammy multi strike-- multistrike has a lower end avg dmg the benefit is hitting a full page of mobs I would avoid multi so much while soloing and shoot for dbl strike instead as it still hits two enemies and the dmg will be greater.

edit 2: in reference to your unlocked monk -- I know daggers are pricey so look into a EE staff set (they are usually pretty affordable) monk is super strong solo class imo.

It does, thanks.
This armor gap has been killing me... I've already bought a 45 lvl 100 ee leather just as a temp armor.
I'll also try to buy a better MQ armor because this 155 ee chain is fine but I feel like I could upgrade without ruining my budget.

Ant's comment about salvation may be something to look into actually :) with the right setup you can definitely make salv work wonders :) even with base int on melee classes! Plus having a heal set is always a good idea :D

For samurai Id probably go with two hit back and powerstrike. Multi is definitely more of a group skill. If you end up duo or trio leveling then maybe consider a couple points in it but only if you think the group will last a good amount of time. Otherwise build solo for partial climb groups.

Staves for monk are always a good choice :) especially since you have a sword set for ninja should you pass :D personally I believe monk to be the best solo class before HH. Power strike, twohitback, and doublestrike with doublestrike being a class ability for faster increased :D

If you do go after a new MQ armor I definitely would recommend either a med armor or chain. Try staying away from plates as the caster mobs will shred you with crits.
