Armor acts as damage to barehanded fighting (basically with each set of armor, they have a set of hand ware that is not visible or a new item):
... It is simple, you take the Physical Defense represented by each armor type / tier, this also becomes your base damage. Thus, EE on Armor increases it.
... Ratio? Str 75 / Dex 25 ... Was going to go 50/50, but unsure.

ONLY character that this helps is Alchemist.Now, as for introducing new items: Gloves, gauntlets, etc would just be another set of gear to collect, BUT, let us say that you could challenge other people in Arena brawling style, instead of finding these new items in Catacombs, you can earn them (Competition Style, or 1 vs 1 and so on), buy them or hire them in the Arena only.
We can put a twist on this (Arena Brawling) as well, you can learn Martial skills, Aikido, Tai Chi, Wing Chun etc, again ONLY in Arena, there won't be a 10 prof point cap, there could be a other rewards added by ranks of 5, Trophy awards for most wins etc... the potential is there.
