There's no way you found 5x +1 fishing rods. I've only seen one drop in the past 2 years... Maybe you're just lucky as hell

Prof rods are extremely rare (although Njag might have changed the drop rates on them after the rework). I'd say about as rare as totems. Rare fishing rods "can happen" but never will. It's easier to find a 240+ ee item.

I'm fairly confident that I saw such a rod back in 2013 or so. I don't think that any has dropped since then

Wow! Thanks a bunch for that link. I wonder if that was an overspawn, maybe something similar to a 13 property item or something? This definitely dropped before I started playing as my item IDs don't go back far enough to hit #1215192420. Can anyone date this thing back to when it dropped?

Items dropped in August 2011 were around 45m in item ID. It's a whole lot earlier than that

Last time i played was 10 years back, so potentially seen changes since.

I've heard of a +5 proficiency rod "back in the day" which i think was level 40, was used and the fisherman stated the durability rods were better.
I'm probably exaggerating on finding 5 but back then there was also a chat about rods and there were plenty of them about.

I think max +prof on rods should be 1 per tier... However, they drop so infrequently that it's difficult to verify. In any case, +# prof on rod just means your fishing skill is # higher, but you will still gain proficiency for ranks above your permanent skill level... as a result you fish faster, but will gain less proficiency per catch... Since it's otherwise a white rod with no +durability, they aren't super useful for gaining prof at higher levels, but theoretically could be used to fish faster at low skill ranks

I just bought that from myself so it can have history. It's the highest +prof I've seen. Can't remember for sure if I found that or if someone sent it to me, but I think I found it

I've definitely seen at least 3 prof rods drop since I started playing ls, so I guess about ~1 per year, but I only found out higher than 1 prof rods are possible a few months ago

Never witnessed a totem drop and I think I've only heard about 2 totems supposedly dropping for the past ~4 years, one of them being the one Alex is/was selling ( but more could've dropped ofc )

I'm just finding out that a rod with prof and dura can spawn although a great one will be harder to find than a 250 ee 60 dex dagger it seems ^^
