What kind of gear should i prepare prior to climbing? I remember vaguely not every 5lvls depending on how good the gears r right

First off i would buy an axe or dagger set and decent dex gear, you will probably climb with your guildies mostly so go all out dps rather than tank gear.
Then just message joel and tell him you want to climb and i am sure he will get you in some games.

He already started selling off some items and now is thinking about coming back.

It's a trend in the LS community. People who come back that already have gear sell it off and then realize they want to stick around.
