I'm confused...you want to ban him because he has 100k posts?
He had a decent idea for this thread....I just hate all proficiencies which is why I voted no.
and there are sooooo many millions of suggestions that it's hard to know what is a new idea and what is not

If you can explain to me how one gets more skilled at wearing something I’ll vote yes... sorry practicing with a weapon or spell makes sense as you would get better as you did it more but putting on armor protects the same regardless of how many times you wore it before

w8... someone might ask for a 'boardwalk' to get in the models to wear the armor and show their proficiency.

@ Topic... no, there are better mods / proficiencies that can be added to the game, like "impact / pierce / slash" attacks which increase the weapons dmg, then you can have sub profs to main attack profs which increase "impact / pierce / slash" damage mod to weapon.

EDIT: the "impact / pierce / slash" mods also effect more dmg to those armors that are susceptible to those attacks... e.g. Club (impact) deal more damage to Plate

That would get an even bigger HELL NO vote than this did...

Armor prof makes no sense. If a shield item was introduced I would be willing to concede on a blocking prof... every one knows the phalanx was a shield proficiency formation so i guess you can get better at "shield wearing" but never ever will i say "wow you wore tank armor for 10 climbs? you should totally get a bonus for wearing that armor progressively better!"

I agree, armor prof is pointless, as I have stated in previous "Armor Prof" threads that pop up... I have worn Scale / chain / plate armor irl, the only requirements are: enough strength to don the armor efficiently to move freely while swinging your weapon or combo holding a shield as well. Phalanx are more spear shield combat efficient as a UNIT, Sword/Pilum and Shield users, Romans were basically masters at it (again, as a Unit). Since I have been a Praetorian and mercenary in contact (full and non full) re-enactment groups, I agree 100% that while using a Shield, you get a block prof, but, then you have to add a "Feint" prof to bypass a shield block (or increasing the % chance to hit an opponent)

EDIT: damn got too engrossed in this post that I burnt the frying pan... Grrr...

armor prof would decrease the new action time penalty for wearing armor, which is also offset by your strength.
now we need armor urability, too, with armor breaking over time. can repair with fg
make the game harder
