cool story time, for i see this little hoby is still to be desired.
lets see whos actually good at games.
games dieing because most that play it is jobless 20-30 year old men with the mental development of children, they like to cling together in little cool clubs and genuinely think they are pretty cool because of it, lol, but hay if thats how they want to spend their life and keep the game from ever becoming anything most people are even willing to piddle with. was better many years ago but now i wouldn't even want to play it, tried to pick it back up 2 years ago but even then it was cancer. cant say this is anything unique to this game tho, its not to blame, its simply the current mindset and gaming community and its claws are apparently pretty far reaching, makes you miss the late 90's where 8 year olds acted more like men than the men these days.
prices are probably high because these people probably have a hard time actually being good at every game they play and have to rely on the 1-2 niche's they fit into to supply them with success on any new games they chose to pick up. i personally find little use for fg since i always end up with more than i need, since i consider trading as much a hoby as the actual games, and cheating with fg would basically be a waste of my fun and possibly holding me back from trying to figure out what im doing, 99% of the time it ends up rotting into oblivion or going to friends the second i or friends find a new game to play. use to care about fg before i realized this but now i wont even spend the 5 hours off my new game to cash out, recently with path of exile where i probably wasted 40k and had only just been getting the hang of what i was doing and probably could have made a hell of alot more, probably 5k/fg a day or so, and for the most part its usually always barely regretful. when i actually need fg, which is rare, i just load up whatever game i just quit or in alot of cases just started and sell off some of the excess just sitting there. crap i just started this new game and already i can spend 1 hour a day and make up to 1k fg/day.
i can understand tho that ppl have to use it, most of them probably havnt made trading and finding niche's a hoby, or simply are not intelligent enough, i had been in line to make like a million dollars a year on vanilla wow, selling gold, since i was probably the best trader on the most popular game during its time. i say probably because its possible someone had a way to make what i was but who knows, but sadly that ended quick as i was apparently being watched pretty hard and was banned 15 minutes after my first sale. took that to a bit of an extreme tho, at first i was content with being the richest person on my server and monopolizing the auction house with the skills i picked up from trading on everquest. which turned me into quite a hated person out of jealousy since i kind of ruined the economy for the poor, probably one reason why i had gm's set to watch me since i guess a bunch of whining fucks is more important than someone legitly playing the game. i guess it was excessive to be spreading it to 40 servers on both factions but i was going to turn it into a job. was going to be pretty decent to spend 7 hours a day doing something i like to make a good living. was able to make 1000g/day per char, so thats 80k avg a day... i dont know the math, it was selling for $0.25c per gold, was going to be alot.
moral of the story is, i just picked up a new game 2 weeks ago and i can already afford to deck myself out in the best gear that people spend hundreds of dollars on and only probably 10% of the players actually have.
and when i sell crap? i dont have to over price crap, or sit on it for months, i hardly stay on a game for months, i sell for probably too cheap and should make stuff not sell within a day and rather make it avg 3 days, but its really hard to care about maximizing my profits by being a shizty noob when its more fun for me to just reinvest it and end up having too much crap to sell and too much money to care about whats happening.
but stay small my shizty little horder friends, all that that mentality can do is hold you back, i suppose now that i think about it, i ascended that point far before i realized it. and ill explain that real quick, the reason these people have to hoard and do long sales is because they are bad at what they are doing lol, its embarrassing but its the reality for the majority.
its not always about trading in the games tho, sometimes i like to find ways to make far beyond reasonable amounts playing or crafting, it can be hard to find if even possible, and thats again what sets you apart from people who have to trade to be in the top 1%, but most people wouldnt even know because they'd consider something good compared to what they make trading but what they make trading was crap and suck in both aspects, and thats 99% of people. some games simply have limits on trading or playing and i always set out to find the way that makes 5-10x more than what is considered by everyone as the best known means.
you may say, why dont i just trade on this website and use fg for everything, to answer that, i have, but its far more profitable to do it in the games and more fun, it takes time and it gets boring doing it here. i know alot of people can do the same repetitive thing for years but its not for me, i dont have to try that hard for that long at something lmao, and i find that exceptionally embarrassing, just like how some people will play an arcade style game for not a few months on and off over the years but religiously for 5-10 years just to be just above average of the casual player.
and before anyone talks crap, then go ahead and explain to me your list of atleast 5-10 games you think you have been exceptional at and ill be amused if your above average on more than 1-2 and let you know just how bad you where at the ones i played. its nice being intelligent enough to shit gold, but lets be honest, i probably wont ever check this thread again and just dont care and may not be back on here shortly for ??? who knows how long.
btw add up 1000(g/day) x 40 (servers) x 2 (factions) then multiply it by $0.25c and let me know how much real world money i was going to be making playing a video game lol, altho it would have only lasted about a year (because of expansion, reducing gold price to 2 cents per gold? probably still woulda been worth it lol, or just do $250x80 or some crap, i think that solves the problem. only thing that piss's me off is that blizzard banned me for something they then decided to make legal and profit off of via diablo 3, which i did play for a month or 2 and buy a few nice toys in the end from it. ive also had opportunities to make usually around 30-100k a year playing probably 5+ games but i never end up doing it, theres no telling how long it will last or if you'll get banned and that keeps me from making a job out of it, with the fact that i already like my job, but ya so /w those risks, theres no reason to turn it into a hastle doing more than i would for fun for money that usually isnt going to be worth it. havnt found another chance to make enough for it to be worth it but ive obviously kept an eye on whats going on.
stay cool kids but, i on the other hand try to do cool things.
