Imo the game doesnt need one more melee class, specially not before warlock.
If it would need something it would be another caster class and that would be between ~paly and monk.

If the point is to make more charcters use different items? then make all existing classes to use either more or others.
also u can use staff on warlock if u really want to melee it aswell (it have a good dex base for it)

Sure I do like the first ability, but the second one is useless imo, why wouldnt ppl just go with "multiheal" which is guardians abi and heal everyone instead of just 1 or 4 ? if you are looking to do healing that is.
Most ppl who cast today already have a healset and can easily heal, ppl are just bad players and dont really want to heal because it make their already bad dmg even worse

as patl was saying, what about clubs? they can only be used on feeders + paldin which is all 3 doors, meaning u wont use them at all?
staffs are used at feeders + monk + warlock. 2x 3door, 1x 4door, 1x 5door (meaning they are used alot)
The game is made to make it easy for a new person to get up to monk, because all you basicly need is swords and str/tank gear.
which is all very cheap compared to a dagger/axe + dex set.
IF anything, making a new char to only be allowed using certain items, I would love to see something with,
NOT ABLE TO USE ARMOR / HEALSonly able to use heavy wep
only able to use Wind / Earth
That being said, it means it would only be able to use "new" gear.
Skills? Idk, one good casting, one good melee. no third.
