The app could require membership so that's not a really good argument nor reason for it not to be developed. It could bring new users and exposure to the site.
This topic has been beat to death, and it will most certainly never happen. would be useful for skilling and even soloing could be possible with the right implementation.
main issue I see is the lack of a dev team, lack of resources, and the lack of desire. 10 people saying they would use it isn't exactly motivating, although I can say it's been almost a year since I slashed, but I play mobile games daily when I'm on a bathroom/coffee break at work, and I would use a mobile app.
You took what you wanted from what i said and skipped the rest.

i do it all the time
the game already progresses slow enough with updates we do not need his time drawn for a crap application that would be of no use because you still have to be a member of d2jsp to PLAY LS. This has been suggested mor times then you have posts. The answer has and will be no.
Because it will indeed be crap for a LONG TIME being able to only skill has no use to me and is filed in the trash can for me. I wouldnt even want to play this on a phone/tablet unless it was touch screen orientated so i could click monsters at an acceptable rate.

We could think smaller with less options than the full game as well. Just skilling. No group play. Have it solo based without exploring which would suck on an app. Arena for app play what????!!!! Or better yet make it old school text based for moble devices. For a simple working ls app you could start with basics.
That being said I don't skill and I can't see myself playing it on my phone or tablet. I like the group interaction the full version brings.
It would be hard for me to troll Rick on a moble device
How so you troll me on your phone while your at work all the time.. xD Love those pms ^^

I started on an android version a few months back, got it to the point of logging in and showing the list of characters, but that was it. Recreating the UI from scratch is quite a large undertaking, and there are many areas that I still don't have any good solutions for. The other problem is that I wouldn't do an apple port, due to their ridiculous (and yearly) fees to even have your apps on their app store (and the fact I own no apple products). Other concerns are things like speed, higher latency from phone networks, etc. Plus, I still have a crazy amount left on the main version of the game, so this would detract from that (though I would argue not necessarily needlessly, as it has it's own benefits). Most likely any initial releases would be on the order of getting all the various proficiencies working, and then moving onto more complex things after that. Still, even that is more complex than it sounds, because the entire item system has to be put into place before even that will be workable, since all skilling proficiencies are based upon items.
All that said, I haven't tabled the idea, just that it's very low priority.
So... maybe someday?

Its alot of work and i dont see it happening in the foreseeable future as a valid application as most suggested it to be. Basics like skilling would be an amazing start but still AGES from what it would need to be used by the masses. If you dont play the game you cant really skill so this would be an app for existing players starting out. Keep up the good work hope for a new update soon.
