People will always love/hate the current game for what it is, that's just the nature of things.

People will also continue to come and go. Some might stick around for a while, others will just pass through.

I agree with Datis when he said it's hard to make 1 game good for all players.

There could be a plethora of reasons, but probably because its older and changed much.

I actually think if more people tried the current version they would really like it. It is more viable for solo now than it has been in a long time. Good items can drop and it's becoming more affordable for people to get into the game without spending an arm and a leg. A lot of the people I knew that left ls left because their way of playing was no longer available without massive amount of time and/or gear, ie soloing and muting to name a couple. I really enjoy ls as it is now more than I did in the arena days. Also, you have alot of games that have taken a good percentage of the ls community away. Diablo III beta, Lol, Skyrim, etc. :D

this

just casually playing i've been grinding 1-20 picking up 1fg items. I haven't needed to shrine once, if i had the time i could grind to 71 no shrining just selling all crap items on the mp for 1fg. and not lose much money. eventually find something decent sell it for a few hundred and profit. the game is really easy now compared to previous versions(i remember when regen actually mattered)

You can't mute and make a ton of fg.
You can't sell mutables for more than 1 fg.
Arena is gone.

Those are the main people why people quit.

i really liked if the shrine were removed or nerfed.. getting 25% of life from a t1 item is just to much...
imo if u shrine a t1 item at lvl55 u should get 5% tops life back or something..

Get regen Back into the game! i loved those pauses...

I would voted yes to it being nerfed, but not removed. I think that would help out fisher men some out also ^^ , but fisher men still faced with other problems then just that -_-

I agree with several points of Datis' narrative. The main point being new players not getting enough support. I think for us who have played LS a while should put more time into mentoring these new players and helping in any way we can. If you've come into large amounts of fg lately why not donate a small portion to help them get gear. I have done so in the past a few times. 20 fg here or there to help a new player is not a big hit to your fg stash. That would be putting a small amount back into the game. Ofc like several players here I like to do fast climbs but we definately need to start taking time out to carry and mentor some of the new players. I have seen many new accounts try to play for a few days and then never see that account on LS again.
