definitely not liking the lvl 90+ quest. diverts from the objective of the game far too much.
I think njag has done a nice job of making it so you can play normally without giving up the ability to MF well.

I like most of the other ideas tho.

also even tho i have a bunch of white fishing rods on a mule for a rainy day, i think what you said about fishing rods being cheap is actually a reason NOT to implement being able to well them.
supply would go through the roof, and demand is already pretty low.

Totems are kind of a mythical thing in Ladder Slashers and by mythical I mean nearly nonexistant. It seems to me that only 1 drops per season (SC Season) from what I gather from trolling. My idea is since you don't normally see them at all that they should be made better.

hate to disagree with you

pvp ladders sound great
guild cata only objectives sounds terribad

lvl 90+ qwests seem boring

would love more totem types tho

I like the dungeon idea. However, I would add that if you fail it(anyone dies or leaves on last square) that you are forced reroll and can't mq. Gives an incentive to pick one or the other. If you pass the dungeon, then you can MQ, but failing it=reroll.

As for the average players not being able to do it....good. Gives them an incentive to upgrade their gear. As things are right now in the game, there is no incentive to buy really good gear. How many topics are there up right now in the trading forum with awesome gear and no bids on it? It's not needed and something like this could add to the demand of such gear. Buying awesome gear then being able to turn around and "mf" the dungeon and get your fg back, sounds like a great idea to me.

i'm not entirely sure that's so much the problem as most people, aka average players, can't afford even a piece of good/awesome gear. at least, as an average player myself, i sure as heck would love to upgrade my gear...

many(not all) of the "top geared players" started out like everyone else...with nothing. Through time and intelligent intent, they upgraded to what they now have. 2 years ago, you couldn't put a top end item in a trade topic without it immediately having multiple offers. Now, nobody wants top end gear because it still comes with a top end price and the game just doesn't need good gear anymore. It didn't really need it before, but it sure was great being able to solo(say as a warlock) and do a couple hours and then MQ which is what it also took in a group. With bad gear it would take a lot longer. With how the game works now, top end gear just doesn't give much benefit, you aren't going to be able to solo as fast as a group can climb....so it's not as sought after. I think the suggestion of "Dungeon" might help with that.

There are many ways to make fg to be able to afford good gear. There are many people with some of the best gear that haven't spent a dime on this site...others have. Where there's a will....there's a way.

I think it's entirely too difficult to compare starting now vs. starting years ago because it's different. Not any longer comparing apples to apples.

Just your point that years ago expensive items would sell leaves newer players at a disadvantage. They can't find some godly expensive item and hope to sell it. Instead, they rely on finding mid-end gear that is really cheap to sell.

It does kind of suck to see a game get easier for the new people, and them not have to experience the same hardships. Eve Online just went through that. However, it is a price to pay to increase the amount of players. If it is too hard to start it alienates new players and makes them not want to play. There is no room for the game to grow. Lots of other games have too. I started the Everquest progression server and that game has gotten pretty easy :P
