Congrads TouDeN, well done on your first day. Don't buy into all the BS you will read, lots of people get cranky and/or bored around here and feel the need to piss all over someone's accomplishment.
@ the others: two guild members from •.(>^.^)>.• helped carry him to MQ last night. I was talking with one of them on vent, thinking how proud I was that they actually thought to help this guy instead of just do the usual boot. They taught him a few things on what to look for and how to succeed in the game, and also the fact that he won't be able to be carried forever, that it was an exception to the rule.
Think that would have happened with some of the top tier guilds? I think that would be a big HELL NO. He would have been kicked without any explanation. Yes, he was using level 5 equipment at level 70. They also helped educate him on what he should be looking for as far as items go, but with zero FG, this game is more difficult than most of the people complaining will ever know.
The best part? BOTH of the members from our guild that helped this guy PASSED their MQ! Karma is a beautiful thing sometimes.
/endrant.

All well and good -- hopefully he will follow your advice and become a productive slasher rather than a hanger-on. There are way too many of the latter
I agree Rick, trust me I see them all the time, and have had them take advantage of not only my gratitude and kindness, but that of this community as well. I have also seen the other side of things, where you give someone a chance and they really prove their worth tenfold.
I just think we need to take a different approach on how we treat the "new" slasher, and how we post in this main forum.
I will say that we have had a member join us last month who has cranked out 50+ GP in a very short time, managed to get himself a nice setup going gear-wise, and he has become a great asset to not only our guild but someday this community if he so chooses to. He was one of the two that helped assist this guy last night, and I am very proud to have him.
He also would not have been picked up by any of the top tier guilds, because his gear was quite sub-par as far as their "standards" go.
