This is correct. Both poll choices are incorrect. Both stats have inverse effects on damage, and the lower stats affects critical strike chance (with exception of the axe, which uses both stats).

hm?

I dont get this 100% i think.

Does that mean for swords your critical strike chance is calculated by your dex?

And does having the perfect ratio affect critical strike Damage or critital strike chance?

Please put it as easy as possible again :p

im confused

* Critical hits are subjected to a diminishing return ratio for base stats.

Explain this to me again please >_<

What does "base stats" refer to? real base stats even without your added starting points? base stats + what you did stat ?

Hell , im confused

I still go with my 100% str build for swords, with the understanding that 75% of the dmg calculation is taken from this stat

For daggers, I go 100% dex.

It is my very basic KISS principle and it works very well for me.

If you wish to be a purist and try to set your stats according to the ratio suggested, by all means. I'm just too damn lazy to sit and figure it out whenever I upgrade my armors and charms.

once i've done a couple of tests when i was bored, that is average crits per 1000 hits with each of the following str:dex ratios (using axes)

60str:60dex
crits: 13.3%

95str:25dex
crits: 8.9%

30str:90dex
crits: 8.8%

I would like a clarification on what Paul said. Does that mean, using clubs, w/ 250 str and 25 dex, that you would get more crits if you increased the lower of the two to say 75 dex?(keeping the 250 str). So, if I had dual stat gear and single stat gear with the same str. Would I do more crits by wearing the gear with dex also, even though it throughs me off the ideal ratio(example is using clubs). I understand that adding 50 dex will give me more damage because of the 90/10 part. I wish to know if the added dex would give more crits, or if getting closer to the ideal ratio provides more.

thx for explanation anyway melee was weakened by those ratios /at least 2x sets charms, armors needed if u go pure melee vs 1x set in 1.19/
vs casters /int = ~ee, splash, unlimited mana stack, almost all char useable/, this is great boost for casters and imbalance melee/caster
i wonder what new solutions will come in the future and if this imbalance gonna be fixed anyway
i think all players will be thankful for few words, Paul, thx
