i play hardcore, and have a fair share of items to get me along the way.
if you are starting out, play softcore to understand the game
you will hardly find groups in hardcore

if you are just starting up and you want to play hardcore, i would highly advise you to invest in swords

nah if you want to play with people you must play another game, not core.

What is that softcore you are talking about ?
I know LS is divided into 2 cores but i thought they were called Core and babycore.
Knowing that hardcore is the Core this softcore must be the famous BabyCore.

If you choose to start BabyCore then here is a present that fits it
