Maybe this will encourage more people to go HC tank :)

As a matter of fact, the guide can be equally applied to SC tanks as well.

A tank is useless if it can't do damage at the same time.

But my standards are pretty high so I'll just leave before I say some mean things.

Also don't encourage people to sacrifice their characters for others. Then we will just end up with threads of people crying that they died and that a thread told them they couldn't leave.

Agree with this. I'm sure your build is an effective tank but if it doesn't tank and kill effectively at the same time, it's relatively useless imo

60-65 vit and GG tank scales are plenty to tank effective and contribute to killing speed imo

Well yeah you are the only God on this forum and we all are loosers with crap gear. Not all players have 200 ee+ items. My first impression was that you are a clever boy but I was wrong and you are kinda pathetic with your high standards and attitude. I will stop saying something mean aswell as you also consider all of us randoms. It's becouse of smart players like yourself d2jsp members don't start hardcore. If they have bad gear or no experience they are insulted or kicked from your games. Learn some respect kidd.

On hardcore this tank build makes things run smooth like butter.  Thanks for being such a Super Sexy tank in the hc catas

Totally agree --- nice to have a good tank in the game B)

Once editted, this could be a great guide and hopefully help people get back into HC

As for tanking and doing melee dmg --- I do it better than most on HC and neither deafboy (alchemist) nor tjtoughguy (monk?) are right --- tanks are valuable --- better with dmg but still very VALUABLE to a TEAM even without dmg B)

Is there any tl;dr version? I see you put much effort into this, but.. who would read this wall of text? Get some structure into this guide and leave nonsense bubbling out. Post facts and that's it. Nn to decorate them with any rant talking.

Appreciate it, though.

yea when lance started playing he logged in and was an alchemist
this is a good guide for a pure tank
but what you might not understand cyber is that in good quality runs sacrificing a decent damage tank for a pure tank doesnt make any sense
i dont expect you to be able to grasp this concept since quality groups is not something you have experienced

good guide nonetheless i think if newcomers followed this guide it would indeed help them lots.

but this guide serves to help people come to hardcore with a good build and i think this does exactly that

Not sure exactly how I'm wrong, I never said that a tank wasn't valuable. It is in fact a necessity.

I just stated my preference as to how a tank should be built.

The difference between 100 vita tank and a tank that has more strenght can be solved with better gear. I did not make this to teach players that have more then 2 years playing here how to play but to give a hint to the newcomers or the ones that did not tryed tanking yet. Even with 100 vita points having a sword 200ee+ , a hybrid armor ee/str and a strong charm str/intel can bring you very high damage. Let's evaluate a bit: having 65 vita points is sort of having a dps character not a tank and even high ee scales can help you in strong situations. So wake up a bit and think that a player does not start with 300.000 fgs to buy everything from the beginning. This is a progresive game and new players does not even know what high standards in this game means.

The guide is fine for pure tanking, but if you are going to make a tanking guide. You need these things.

1. Organized and easily readable and understood. (There is no effective spacing or any kind of highlighting that would be efficient.

2. Needs to show the basics of tanking and stating what you should do for what purpose. (It only lists how to tank and it completely out of order).

3. And everything in it needs to be factual and logically conceptual.

Take this statement for instance,

"Barbarian has higher strenght doing more damage and also having more vitality getting more life in the end. Fighter has a bit more inteligence and dexterity.
It’s your choise in the end but both are good."

Str and Dex both factor in now and it is all dependent on your weapon and the ratio of your str/dex. This guy is just spouting off pointless bullshit and this is going to misinform some people.

And as I already mentioned encouraging people to sacrifice themselves for their group is just stupid. They should tell people that if they are exploring and certain quests and evils are going to spawn, they need to get out and that you will only wait as long as you can without sacrificing their own character.

A better tactic to prevent such things anyways is first of all, people not being retarded and running away and being on the same page, and also not multicasting big waves like idiots, and if you do make that mistake, they need to have comfreys on hand so they can get out. Also the leader of the game should be competent enough to kick people out if someone fails to get out.

The guide sucks. It has no order to it. And it suggests things that are completely illogical.
