Dagger:
1 str = 0.10 ee
1 dex = 0.90 ee

Axe:
1 str = 0.50 ee
1 dex = 0.50 ee

Note:
Round down effect vs daggers effectiveness: 9 dex = 8.1 ee
Round down effect vs Axe effectiveness: 9 dex = 4.5 ee

imo I thinks this is correct.

And yes Daggers are far better right now. IMO

did you try the axe with unbalanced ratio? looks like you only did that one with balanced str/dex ratio.

yes, please look at the second s/s I am also going to climb a barb with pure str and test the axe out then.

Whats also confusing is this -
Strength: Increases the base damage and *critical hit chance for melee weapons by the ratio for that particular weapon.
Dexterity: Increases the base damage and *critical hit chance for melee weapons by the ratio for that particular weapon.

* Critical hits are subjected to a diminishing return ratio for base stats.

Your crits were the same for perfect ratio tests and unbalanced with dex being much higher. The note says base stats tho, does this mean not on items? If thats the case it makes sense. Or does it just mean dex/str has dimish while +crit strike does not. And what about crit flux?!

Hiding information about the game's stats is really getting old :(

I think it's just a simple mistake that was made on the update and will be fixed soon. My fingers are crossed on this anyways. To think a dagger or club can perform almost twice as well as an axe doesn't seem like it was intended to me. However, we've seen 1700+ average dmg using daggers already. I'm using some of the best dual stat gear in the game and the best axe and can only do 950 average. If it isn't an oversight and was planned this way, then people need to be aware that axes aren't even close to being on par with other weapon types.

Based on those numbers bolded in your tests, it gives my calculations a bit more sense... as it is around the same difference in damage:

Round down effect vs daggers effectiveness: 9 dex = 8.1 ee
Round down effect vs Axe effectiveness: 9 dex = 4.5 ee

If we increase this by 10, it becomes more noticeable:
81% ee (dagger for using 90 dex)
45% ee (axe for using 90 dex)

wtf does that have to do with anything??

Sent you PM Hor_Rahl

I have been thinking more on this matter... not sure what the initial problem is, it seems to me that there should be balance with the ratios and damage...

Before:
1 str = 0.95 ee (round down)

Now:
If dex and str have the same calculation, it should still work out the same
1 str = 0.95 ee (round down)
1 dex = 0.95 ee (round down)

Dagger:
1 str / 9 dex = 9.50 ee (round down)

Axe:
5 str / 5 dex = 9.50 ee (round down)

Unless it is like as you stated:

Dagger:
1 str = 0.10 ee
1 dex = 0.90 ee

Axe:
1 str = 0.50 ee
1 dex = 0.50 ee

Note:
Round down effect vs daggers effectiveness: 9 dex = 8.1 ee
Round down effect vs Axe effectiveness: 9 dex = 4.5 ee

That is the only explanation in where Dagger yeilds better damage than Axe

if this is the only thing that is different between weapons then why such a big difference in damage?
i mean a 256ee axe with what you say can stat anything and just do godly damage
but u need to have all dex with a dagger

there should be very small difference in average damage

There clearly is a large difference.

Only question now is if this is intended or if it is a coding mess up.

if he is right every stat point with an axe will give 0.5 at the same time as every stat point with a dagger will give 0.9 hence the dmg difference.

Or they're trying to figure out how the ratio works.

Yeah but when you add str to that equation they become balanced because daggers only get a .10 from str and axes get .50 from str.

So 5str/dex equal the same amount of damage added compared to 9dex/1 str.

The reason daggers have higher increasing damage in the tests is because their is more gear that exists to make the ratio optimal.

Nick had 391 total stats with the majority of them being dex with him being close to his ratio.

Your str/dex both barely total over 300. If you were to take a str and dex that total to about 390 and about the same EE compared to the daggers Nick used, you would see the same average of result.

You guys are looking at it incorrectly.

Daggers are not mathematically better. They are better because of limitations of gear and characters.

so 70 stats is 800 damage in difference?
