I'm still kinda back and forth myself.

I have this plate:
Angelic ultimanium plate mail
Level Req: 55
Physical Defense: 110 to 330
Magical Defense: 0 to 39
+171% Enhanced Effect
+42 Intelligence
+1 Critical Strike
+2% Damage Return

I take around 25 damage per hit in cata (barely have to heal leveling solo)



Arcane fine honed leather armor
Level Req: 55
Physical Defense: 56 to 168
Magical Defense: 40 to 162
+177% Enhanced Effect
+22 Strength
+141 Max Life
+13% Experience Gained
+3% Damage Return
+12% Critical Flux

And with this leather I barely have to heal on a rogue (about 36 damage per mob hit 65-71).  I usually go with the leather as it has exp gain and str/crit flux, makes the levels a little faster.

what about their value for catas? did u try them and check for the avg dmg takenn there to compare them? u can do solo in cata untill ur mana is empty. so u get quite compareable results

Yeah that was the cata info.  25ish average damage for the plate per hit, 36ish for the leather.  But of course the plate has the 42 extra defensive stats that the leather does not.  A better test would be against a pure plate 170ish ee and similar build.

I have a 177ee lvl 35 scale
u have to have a comparable plate or chain
and we will make a cata game and see who takes more dmg from 35-40

Magical Defense: 33 to 99
+176% Enhanced Effect
+2 Dexterity
+1 to 3 Life per Attack
+1 to 5 Life per Kill

I'm sure someone has a plate like that, saw it up for sale not too long ago.  But I really don't buy anything that is one dimensional so it is hard to do any precise tests on 1 stat for me

I have a 133ee 19 vita scale for lvl 20
or 25 149ee scale
