i do full chains from 1-65 with normal melee gear and awesome wild heals

yes only reason why this semi-works is because you are on a plate char. This would suck on a monk/ninja

Still beats full melee monk/ninja at higher levels.
I chain 2-3 as full melee, and I chain 5-10 as hybrid going this way. So I'd say it beats full melee either way, WHEN you don't find catas. And if I do find catas, I usually end up as backupheal, making it so that we don't have to remake every time healer goes oom. And some times I end up the only healer.

looooong time ago, I used to just have 1-11 mana per attack on my melee charm
then when I'm low on life I'd swap it for a heal charm
go fight a level 1, heal myself
kill the lvl 1, put melee charm back on, then go fight my own level

the 1-11 mpa was enough to always have enough mana to heal completely
and I had really crappy gear
and this was on a rogue lol

That's only if you have the heal charm to be able to heal your self for more than the monsters are hitting ..... Kinda hard when your wearing a damn robe and monsters are critting you for 500 or more This is for the solo aspect of course as for catacombing it doesn't matter what you use i saw a freaking Fighter at level 69 in a game with an average of 50 sitting in back.... ( left of course ) But having back up heals on any char is nice for catacombing.

i agree, but only if your goal is only MQ
if i could chose take 4mins to lvl with 10 chains or 8minutes to lvl with a full chain, i'd probably take the second option

full melee with efectiveness in monk and ninja is still possible, just requires higher quality items, you can't do it anymore with 30dex/5ls charm and robe
