The idea of the new char is not being forced to cast or melee but be more versatile. Having a class that makes a good caster and melee char and eventually hybrid. So you can use all gear, all abilities without being totally overpowered. You are forced to play different styles through all the other classes. So you are getting a nice and not a boring end of the season with a class that you can be looking forward to getting it.

If people struggle about the sequence of chars.. another idea that is coming to my mind would be:

have 4x 4 door classes: monk/ninja/paladin/alchemist
let player simply choose which class they open up when they pass samurai. so people have to pass all 4 but may choose which one first/2nd/3rd/last

same for 2x 5 door classes. open up warlock first or headhunter first as you choose.

I really started to ignore threads like these. Nothing is implemented in this game. Play it or quit is the motto. So just play it as it is and pretend its not bad. It is what I do.

Then maybe only heal charms. I know I'm in the minority, but there is too much casting going on. People have great gear that's very rare and I understand that, but seeing people cast on a char with 5 starting int yet like 130 starting melee stats is insane to me. Personally I don't think the game should be able to be "completed" while not meleeing a single class.

well there are quite some things that have been implemented over the time.. take sellable wellables for example.. it was a point in a topic like that and got added. instant mutes that can be done by everybody without profs are a thing as well which brings "gambling" to ls and increased the prices of muteables by a huge amount.
