Killing off the 1 corner and leaving game will not make you lose the objective. HOWEVER, as stated before, if you do not kill it while you encountered it, and then leave the game, you will lose that objective.
I used to do this also, I just found that by the time I get to that corner, my level went up and eventually it just took too long just killing off the 1 monster.
And yes, you can pass your game to others and the objective monsters will remain, however, you must create the game yourself, enter the catacomb so that it becomes active, exit catacomb and open the game up for others to join... or for someone to come in and hold the game until you switch characters to a lower level one (as 10 in your example).
If you have other players in the group before entering the catacomb to trigger the 4 corners objective, there own objectives can over write it... basically if they have not completed the pre requisites, those objectives will become active.
Note: I used to do this a lot with other players when hunting objectives for mules, or creating mules with certain objectives active at their level requirement.
