I disagree. Lots of players have spent their precious time and energy building up their proficiencies so that the essences they sell would be worth the time they spent.

Thats just like saying we should get rid of restaurants (who spent the time and money to get their licenses, pay for their rent, employees, etc…) and just have a bunch of illegal vendors selling the same food in tents or food truck without any regulations or punishment for lacking licenses, food protection, etc…..
By the way: this is already happening in los angeles.

I dont want to have to switch chars to stop fishing for example.
Just cuz we finally got a full group (I solo so it doesn't really matter)
But like I said I'm a Warlock on my secondary char. I have no use in trying to fish while I wait for a group.


So to relate it to OP
I believe there should be a segregation of skills per core (comparing a rradtsurant to trucks)

Maybe not happening in your area, but here in LA i can take you to a restaurant where a burrito is $15 or so then take you around the block where almost the same burrito is sold for $6-$8.

Yea I live in New England. It's different here.

Around here just to park your truck or have a hot dog cart there's park fees. (Believe me I tried looking into buying a truck one wedding season beacuse i was sick of doing 3 weddings a day.)
Which said fees go into our food service (health inspections)
And things that make certian restaurants more prestigious. So go ahead and eat that unrefrigerated burger cuz its half price 😆😆😆

Even our state fairs need the inspections. Those trucks and trailers go through ringers for it just to sell a god damn candy apple

To relate it to what you said. I think cores should be separate (saying food trucks vs restaruants)

But that's it. Everyone Is in the same market otherwise, doesn't matter who you got working as the chef (being your toon)

You must be completely missing the context.

He's saying that Skilling should still have prof associated with it, in contrast to what woofer said. (This has nothing to do with softcore/hardcore).
His reasoning is that the people with prof have put in the time/diligence to reap the rewards (FG income/consumable items). As opposed to those who want the rewards without going through the pain of acquiring the skill.
The analogy is legitimate restaurants vs illegal/pop-up trucks. The illegal trucks are attempting to skirt the regulations and offering potentially unsafe products for a faction of the cost. They are able to offer lower prices as they do not have the overhead of hiring legitimate workers and applying for and obtaining quality inspections.

On topic, I think Core-wide Skilling prof would be nice.

I don't get the analogy at all, how would essences that are instantly created instead of the arbitrary time wasting bs skilling process be any different? It's more like saying if they invent a procedure that makes you muscular without any effort, no one should use it because it would be unfair to the people who work out 5 days a week.

If essences are made instantly, then they would be worthless fg wise. If this happens, then may as well make catching fish instant. Same with glyphing. 0 point in leveling up skilling. May as well just remove it all. But thanks for your input newbie.

I feel that all prof should be by the account, not by character. This will also stop people from doing deathfarming also.
