wellmy death farmer is fighter lv 60, the barbarian is level up to gain level back from after the mq, so you mean death farm on my fighter then.

why would a second character help with +evil presence bonus event?

Because you can consider one character your Main, which you actively focus on climbing/unlocking classes/gaining proficiency, and a secondary character which can park at whatever level to death farm at and hyper focus on finding loot.
Essentially, you're progressing your Main long-term to gain prof and have the option to mix it up with your secondary char in case of events like these or when you want to focus on loot/fg.
This way can help with funding your Main character with better gear while not losing out on proficiency on the character you care about.

so sort of like i started then

apmaz (lv 60 fighter) currently deaths farms
ZampaPush (lv 14 barbarian) that i finished MQ on, and that i eventually will push to MQ again

When ladder resets do profeciency resets with it? (when someone beats the final master quest?)

Also is there some merit to level up proficiency on your death farmer?

Nope, you retain all your proficiency. The reset sets everyone back to Feeder classes is all :)

Ultimately, it's up to you, but I would say why bother. You would be better off upgrading your weapon instead of grinding for 1-3% of prof. What would be ideal is if your death farmer unlocked at least Samurai.

I :love: ^Bigheaded a lot and the info he gives is almost always spot on which is why I have to chime in here...
You lose 10% exp and prof per death without any passes on the char, and after successfully passing your first master quest (1/2 odds) the exp loss per death doubles to 20%.
So instead of going from 90% -> 81% -> 72% -> 65% -> 59% -> 53% -> 47% -> 43% -> 38% -> 34% -> 31% -> 28% -> etc on a feeder

You go from 90% -> 72% -> 57% -> 46% -> 36% -> 29% on a samurai (whether or not you reroll him as a feeder or actually use samurai)

If you deathfarm a lot this is actually a huge deal. Granted, you could fail the first master quest 10 times in a row and then the season gets reset, but I have never made a deathfarmer without any passes since that's torture. More passes are even better but at least get the 1st pass which is a 50/50 shot if you plan to deathfarm a lot :evil:

Here's the reason why, from one of your previous threads this is what BW was referring to.

ah should probably go back and reread advice i got in the earlier threads as a lot of things went over my head first time around as i didnt understand the basics of what people were talking about

Well perhaps i make the barbarian my death farm char and get my old death farm char through the master quest... we shall see.

Seems i atleast made the right decission have 2 chars so one is always at the death farm stage

You can also rotate your characters between normal climbing and deathfarming. Then you can benefit from the extra ee % from proficiencies while deathfarming and scale both characters over time. You could also, for example, run 8 "main" characters and run them at different levels as you see fit. Most people don't play in any of these ways, but you can figure out what your style is gonna be for yourself :)

That makes sense, ill experience with things a bit later, for now i gotta level the barbariab up to like 30 atleast before i go back to my other char.

Also changing mode to easy, does that only reduce number of enemies, or do they also make enemies easier to kill? Wondering if i dont need to heal between fights, not having easy mode on could help with xp rates as it less clickso utside of combat

No worries, you're learning and doing great so far. There's no right or wrong way to play as long as you're having fun :D
Plus, these topics are gold for other new players to discover who may not want to ask questions publicly. Most, if not all, the Sticky'd Threads of LS are outdated as hell too. Anyway, ask away and keep grinding, there's plenty of helpful people in this community and most are more knowledgeable than me, so absorb what you can from everyone is my last tid bit of advice! Good luck~

It's a little misleading, but no it does not affect the monsters by changing their stats or anything. It simply reduces the amount of monsters which spawn per wave
