This whole post is Babble.
We all know what we don't know about ML.

Talking/asking about it is just running in circles at this point.

Actually, out of one response, one (maybe two) thing(s) has come to light.

"Killing Blow" with Magic Luck is the main factor either running in a catacomb or welling for drops. You can use your damage gear to whittle down the Mob(s) and switch to ML gear for the "Killing Blow" in the hopes the drops are better.

The second part is that using ML gear muting is better than not.

Looks accurate so far. I’ll try to correct anything that is wrong if it comes up. Nice job so far actually thanks to Rex and Bigheaded chatty troll + evidence-based input combo

I may test out Fishing for Sardines and using a total of +22 Magic Luck items @ level 55+ (0 Rank Fishing) to see if I get a 101+ Life/Mana Sardine, or more rare sardines.

Before this happens, I will have to sort out certain characters and "Item" slots that are full already with comfrey and maps.

I would bet against it happening since I feel like we would have seen it happen at least once by now... We know that fishing poles can overspawn with ML. We have several examples of > 25 dur splintered rods ;)

But no fish or comfreys yet afaik!

I will have to disagree on the "killing Blow" is the only thing that matters with an example:

1) Assume you are welling - When you throw the item in the well "most" slashers will be wearing ML gear for the main drop.
It has been said that once you throw the item in the well that nothing will change. Not even items for the "side" drop.
The testing that was done was throwing item in the well with ML gear and using non-ML gear for the kill. The results were side drops with "overspawn" stats.

This would bring about many questions (my own included) as if I did use ML for the kill how would that have altered the Tier and Magic Quality?

Secondly, as someone that farms with ML/Stat based items I consistently find more "white" items than I do when I am not wearing any ML at all.
This is also true when stumbling into a treasure chest. My drops are usually better with the ML on than without.

From my own experience I often play with testing switching to ML gear for killing blow on EPs. In my testing I have noticed the EP will not drop an item about 30% of the time with a "switch" kill.
If I dont switch I normally get expected drops and if I happen to have more ML on, the drops occasionally have higher Tiers and or Magic Quality than times I do not.

Just my two cents that I have seen/tested and played through.

Nice! This is because generally switching gear resets your "hit counter" which is something that "may not exist" yet will often have an effect on the drops :P

He is right when he says that overspawns will not occur from normal kills including welling side drops if the killer does not have any magic luck on gear or glyph. So the magic luck of the killer at the time of killing blow is definitely what's being considered at least for chance of overspawn if not all magic luck influence. However, I recommend wearing ML the whole time and not switching for exactly the reason you stated... switching gear for the killing blow often affects drops and generally the effect is negative.

Thanks for the input. @Bolded: That is an interesting test, can this be re-produced? Since I solo, I use ML gear at level 55+ (+9 ml plate) exploring and add another +13 ml (lvl 50 Longsword) when welling Tier VII's to XI (level 40s) and for higher ones I also switch to main gear and use ML for killing blow in the hopes of better drops.

Since I only use ML around level 55+ and explore, I have never encountered less drop frequency vs EPs compared to me not using ML from level 1 to 54 [EDIT: referring to 0 drops from EPs]. This is my experience full on solo runs for the last year at least. I have my own theories about whites ... you don't get less white drops, just the that higher Tier whites don't drop as often... like Tier XI (level 40) and higher, but you will get a shit ton VII's and it whittles down up to Tier X (level 35s).

We do agree, using Magic Luck works for all drops, I hope to test out welling with ML item on drop and use 0 ML killing blow.

Thanks again for the info to test.
