Well it's nearly been 2 days since the first post and you've not managed to make a character yet, so that pretty much sums it up for me.
Let's arguably suggest you manage to make a character.
A few tips:
1. Start with a barb as they have 120 useful stats which is significantly higher than rogue or fighter. Stat only strength and vitality
2. To reach level 5, search market for tier iii weapon with a minimum of 10ee, get as much ee as possible for 1 fg.
3. At level 5, search market for a tier iv weapon with a minimum of 10ee, a tier 4 weapon with 30ee will deal more damage than a tier 3 with 40ee.
Don't really need to worry about armor and charms till level 15 or so.
If you want to attempt to resell the old weapons, just note there are very few beginners, so it's unlikely to resell. It's like buying mf sorc items on nl, loads for sale and few buyers = cheap price and hard to resell.
Also don't put it up for more than you paid either unless you like wasting your time.
Most of the good stuff drops at around level 55-65.
Unlike diablo 2 where you get a level 90 character and farm mobs, in ls you have a level 55 character farming level 55 mobs and stay that level by dying, or keep going till level 71 and attempt a mq which then resets your level. You then go and do 1-71 all over again. Fighting level 71+ mobs as a new player is basically a huge waste of time as the mobs get significantly stronger per level at that point
