Ill start by leaving a quote, some words that i've heard on youtube not too long ago:

"Ladder Slasher is like a cult, a game where the same people play again and again each new ladder reset in their premade teams. New players dont have much of a chance to get good. First, you need a group for LS to make any good progres, and all good groups are already formed. Secondly, alot of Ls will appear overwhelming to newcomers."

What do you think?
Party play is really a must in this game to make real progress?
Are people very selective when in comes to forming a party here?
Do you see new LS players frequently?

Ive tried it in the past and got confused fast. Not knowing what is the endgame aim for this. Not to mention the items and how they work for each class..
My oppinion is that this game is not so much new player friendly ( when it comes to learning it )

It is what you make of it. I personally almost never join parties because I don’t care for guild points (although some guilds pay fg for each guild point you get), I also have slow fat fingers and I don’t like sharing the drops.

I see new players come here, try it out for a few days, then never return. If you’re looking for a game that will give you fg quickly then don’t bother: this is not the game for you!

This game is mostly a “you need to spend fg to get fg” type of game, although it is very possible to have 0 fg and through good bargaining and playing the game you can get 10,000+++ fg but it takes perseverance, time, and a bit of luck. (I’m one of these people that started with nothing and earned most of my fg through this game).

Players took the time to make extensive guides about the game play. Items, every monster, etc.

Not much end game but basically having good gear and being able to climb faster.

I think the majority of people start out solo climbing to learn the game, maybe a bit of advice from the forum to get along smoothly.

Thank you for the replies!

What about the guilds and group play. Do they really make a difference here?

Make a difference?

Well, it is easier to get a full group climb. People you know and trust (more or less).

Other are the guild points, if youre about that.

Guild mates can share gear.

So yes or no.

I try to be as new player friendly as I can and I offer starter gear and gp payments in my guild. Hell I even give the usable gear I find away to new players from other guilds if they are in need.
But it also is hard. The community can be toxic and fighting against that toxicity.. just makes you come across toxic.
It's a vicious cycle.
I mean it is better than it was years ago.
But it's a hard community to work yourself into.
It's honestly what you put in.
Most people aren't very accepting of noobs. But if you show vigilance when it comes to learning and not giving up you will eventually find the help and answers you need.
Like I said I try to end the cliquey elitist stigma there is by helping ppl have a decent gear set to play with and guaranteed fg per guild point. To build new players up so to say.
But there will always be the elitists that don't want to waste time or even think you could be on their level.
It is what you make it.
I have to admit. If you are a new player not willing to guild up, your pretty much thrown to the wolves.

For somebody who has no ladder slasher characters, you sure do ask a lot of questions!

Maybe try the game out for a week first, by yourself. Learn the basics, see if you find any fun playing, and then ask all your questions!

Until then, you’re just wasting your time and ours

Yes. He tried it for 1 second, 1 day, 1 week, who knows. So yes like I said in my post he needs to make some characters, try it out for at least a week, then maybe ask his questions!

Maybe you should offer up some advice instead of just throwing me under the bus, guildie……. :fume:
