idk if anyone even fishes, but I figured I'd share some information I've put together regarding drop rates for fishing. More specifically, comparing the drops with and without a well.

For those that did not know, when you fish at a given level, you have an approximately equal chance to catch a fish from any tier at or below whatever level you are fishing. For example, if you are fishing between levels 11 and 14, you are equally as likely to catch a sardine, herring, or cod (about 33% each). If you fish between levels 15 and 19, you have roughly a 25% chance to catch either a sardine, herring, cod, or trout. So on and so forth, you get the idea.

When you fish in a well, every 15 levels you remove a tier from the drop table. Meaning that once you start fishing at level 15+, you'll no longer catch any sardines. Fishing at level 30+ will exclude herrings from the mix, fishing at 45+ will ixnay the cods, and fishing at 60+ will leave you troutless. I would presume that if you were to fish at level 75+ you'd no longer catch any bass, but you'd need to confirm that with ^Razo

Here are the drop rates for each tier based on level fished, visualized:

So how do we quantify this? Each fish that you catch will heal mana or life (about 80% life / 20% mana, but that's irrelevant here). The quantity of life or mana healed is uniformly distributed across the applicable range for the given tier, so (MAX + MIN)/2. The MINIMUM for each tier can be calculated as the tier x 25, and the MAXIMUM for each is tier x 100. For example, if you catch a Cat fish (tier 7), the average life/mana recovered will be (7 * 25 + 7 * 100) / 2 = 437.5

So using the above drop rate table and the calculated expected values per tier, you get the following table showing the increase in fish value from using a well at each level fished:

I would argue that sardines and herrings are mostly worthless (at least as far as life/mana healed goes... they do have some value to skillers when sold in large stacks), if you recalculate the previous table setting the values of sardines and herrings to zero, you get the following tables:

Hopefully at least one person finds this useful. IIRC my images will not imbed due to my gold status, so feel free to repost those for me in the replies. Feel free to let me know if you disagree with any of my assumptions.

Hello mate!

Thanks for your post regarding fishing! I'm sure it's helpful to at least some poor soul ^^.

I've got a question regarding stacking of fish using the auto stack by %.

Do you understand the way it works, or does it even? Because I can't seem to figure it out. I feel like it doesn't really do what it's supposed to.

The % you designate is the lower bound of the range for a given fish that you'd like to stack. Anything that spawns under that % will NOT stack. For example...

Say you are fishing with the auto stack % = 60%, and for simplicity's sake lets say you're fishing at level 1 so you're only catching sardines.

Sardines will heal between 25 and 100 life/mana. The RANGE is 75, so with auto stack % set to 60, the minimum the fish needs in order to be stacked is .60 x 75 + 25 = 70. So it will only automatically stack sardines that heal at least 70 life/mana.

The minimum value for a fish to be stacked based on your auto stack % is (25*tier) + (auto stack % * (100*tier - 25*tier)). If you're fishing at level 30, where there are 7 tiers of fish that you can catch, it's likely it could take awhile before you catch enough fish above that minimum before they start stacking.

Hope that makes sense.

Hmmm .. let's do some basic math here:

1 --- No LS characters ( need them to hold the fishing rod)
Plus
2 --- No fishing gear ( or any gear at all for that matter)
Plus
3 - - No financial capability ( Ugly red thingy)

Looks like it all adds up to a negative credibility factor
