so i see that if i fail the master quest my character gets re-rolled. i would rather not have that happen until i clear the quest so please tell me what i should be expecting.

You character will get rerolled if you pass or fail, so don't worry about that.

yeah but i want to have a decent chance at clearing it. plus if im going to have to do it over i want to try and get more gear ready for the climb back. where as if i clear it i would be playing a different class next

No need to worry. The quest is not gear dependent whatsoever.

If you pass and don’t have gear for the next climb, you can always choose to play the same character you just finished climbing, you just won’t be able to unlock future classes unless you play your highest unlocked class :)

Right but you can kill him with a white tier 1 sword if you’re lucky enough :)
