I would like to hear your thoughts on the trading fees. Reason I am curious is, there are so few items on the market and so many threads in trading forum, even for plain simple XX% ee items.

My belief is we would have a more active game and ease of use if more items were on the market place. My hypothesis is that the trading fees are prohibitive, as an item for 200fg immediately is 10fg fees - and if not sold in a few days, you probably cannot sell by decreasing because the number of players around is not that great. and the ones that play always are regulars that have solid gear.

This is very prohibitive for new players or comeback players (like me).

So I want to ask if we can make the 5% fee at partly conditional to the transaction. e.g. 1% listing fee + 4% sales fee.this would make it cheaper to put more items on MP and allow players to find gear easier.

what do you think?

I think this and other similar suggestions have been created as a poll with no results/changes created for this game....

Yeah I think your suggestion would probably be a good change.

Although, in one of the latest updates there was a really important change done that I think most people seem to have overlooked. With this we really should be seeing more items on the market.

You can now restart the listing time of an item on the market by dragging the item to the item box on the sell tab and leaving cost the same, and clicking the Edit Item button.
With this feature, you can list an item at any cost, pay the fee upfront (if applicable), then as long as you refresh the item before it expires only have to pay that fee once! You can also continue to drop the price, if you desire, with each edit automatically re-extending the listing duration.

So with this new change you can list your items for a reasonable price, only pay the fee once, and keep the item up on the market indefinitely until a reset by continually resetting the timer.

thanks for pointing this out. i didnt know. I doubt many people know this.
Also that expired MP items get deleted is something new to me. I think i lost some items this way as I was afk for two years.

Somehow the edit trick is not putting many items on the mp. Looking at the trading forum, each type of weapon, for each level has at least 10 pieces for sales at a moment - and those are the active ones, maybe many more could be for sale if people thought they would sell.
However on the MP, there are barely even 1 of a weapon type for a given level. Except lowest few levels.

This is not helping set supply/demand. Like in guildwars, you see people overbidding for buy orders vs undercutting sell orders. This creates a meeting point where sell=buy. and thats the price of the item. In that game you only pay a fee if item sells. I understand there may be a technical need to charge fees to protect capacity. But why charge full fee?

Offer on peoples items on trading forums and then they will list it for you when you find a price that works for you both. It’s just like any other trading section on this site for a game.

the only difference is, ladder slash is the game of this site. so we can actually change the trade mechanic. other games we cannot.

I think the biggest problem is the small listing duration with so little player base, especally poeple that have low or medium buget items.

Finding items on the forum sucks. There is no filter like the market place and people like to post trade mules so you can't use the search feature.

Crazy thought! Make a post with what you are in search of and people may bring their items to you.

this is 2020 not 1995. why would you want to make things more complicated than they need to be?
