few questions: how old is this ladder? and do items stay when a ladder resets? and is catacombs still a thing? i remember catas were lots of fun a long time ago

we got 2 potential resetters right now (alchy). but you dont have to worry about that as the items stay.
Catas are still fun but there are very little people playing so its not like it sued to be back in the days.

Also trading is much much more difficult

the problem is being refused to join groups. had 2 different groups not allow me to join even though i have 1-71 gear because i was guildless and they didnt like my equip. both had alchs so i kinda understand but still madness.

Some groups already have people coming, but ya its harder to get into a group nowadays

I dont count groups whom are "full" in the extent they have 5 people already (i.e just finished a MQ)


On one count refused entirely 100% based on equip/guildless. They sat there for an additional 20-30 mins (which is roughly half a run for those guys, i had seen them climb twice) before eventually someone logged on whom met their requirements.

this is probably the biggest point.
the community is always up for new people, making it grow.
but as a requirement you either need to have decent eq (which isnt that difficult to get + also not that expensive) or at least fgs to buy some.

new players often join without knowing what to do and especially no gear.
i can completely understand that alot got nerved by explaing things over and over again.

what i would suggest to every new player thinking about to start ls, is to read through the topics and there are still questions pm some guys instead of asking in game.

well i was planning to get some fgs and buy gear for the whole 1-71 so that might be easier to find ppl then. is complete solo also an option?

just solo'd myself with gear valuing less than 3k on a mage (not necessarily the easiest to solo with either)

Not really convinced you can get the gear without donations which can do it reasonably quickly for less than 500.
getting 50/55 gear is the hard part charm is easy, plenty of ~30-40 stat ones about. However a sword/axe/spear with 80+ ee is gonna be 200fg+ for 50/55. A club should be a bit more reasonable.
An armor with 30-40 str will be cheap for fighter/barb. a decent ee scale/leather of 90+ will again be 100+ which would be easier to climb with.

This isn't including any of the previous levels either.


If you can scramble together that sort of fg, you're good to go, otherwise when you hit level 60+ you're gonna have some trouble, can always ask on forum for some help if you get that high

ok well that sounds doable. ty for the helpful reply. i can sell a poe mirror for 9k ish, should that be enough to get playthrough gear for melee and caster classes? cause if groups are hard to find i prefer going solo as i am unpatient in general and have limited time

also being a healer in cata was fun did that alot,good times
