As stated pass or fail you will still only get 1 gp (2 for hardcore) when playing on a class you have already passed.
Also when you die you lose a higher percent of xp & combat proficiencies the more classes you have unlocked (does not matter which you are playing)
Some one else chime in here. I think it's 10% on feeder, 20% Sammy, 30% Paly ...

oh also the number of extra starting stats you get for your fails will be reduced to correspend to the unlocked class
dunno if "passing" on an underclass will mess up the fails divided by unlocked classes math
