Pretty much, the topic and description explain who should post in this thread. What the purpose of this thread aims for, is to bring an opportunity for those who wish to help the community out as much as possible, without having to give fg that wont be used for the intended purpose. It will empower any member in the community to assist others and put items to use that most just shrine or dont even pick up.

Before I begin, let me make it clear that this is intended ONLY for people who care enough to WANT to help the rest of the community. If you dont like the suggestion, select no from the poll, and leave. Dont get your +1's here, just go elsewhere. If you want to be the good samaritan, and have constructive feedback to improve on the ideas here, please by all means post.

Heres what my suggestion Entails:

Make an option in the vault screen to be able to xfer items to ANY member in the community.

requirements: The members receiving donation items MUST purchase a vault. This accomplishes two things, the first is that it brings more activity to the vaults (+ for paul and to fg rotation) and the second is to prevent any items being sniped on the mp. Instant xfer, and you do not have to coordinate any times that are inconvenient to either parties involved.

Another requirement, the member being donated to MUST be in a guild, obviously since you would be using the xfer function. There are several restrictions, and I will get into those later.

Final Requirement, those who wish to be the good samaritans, must be willing to give a little extra to be able to help the rest of the community. For example, I want to start this process to donate to other members in a guild, I must pay a monthly fee of 50 fg. Why should I pay to help others? Because I WANT to, and it brings balance to the vault/donation system. Face it, we know how Paul thinks. I think 50 fg a month to give other members the items I find and dont need a small thing, especially when alot of these items could be sold to pay the fee. Then I can give to my hearts content and help others out. I told you this was for serious donors ONLY.

Heres a screenshot of what it could look like (Be warned my paint skills are only 1 step above fail)

*I see I said account name when I meant to say account #, but eh, small thing

PROS:

1)The community becomes more involved with using vaults, increases FG rotation and gives members an opportunity to have quicker climbs managing from their vault instead of mules.

There can be one thread that is continuously updated (moderated if anyone has the time or patience), of what type of items people need. Reduces spam threads, and helps the community out as well as increase guild relations.

2)Guild relations improve, bringing a healthy balance and more friendly slashing competition to either Cores.

3)Donations fees once paid will gain members an opportunity to be helped for a full month.

CONS:

Donators must be willing to pay a fee to participate. Its all about helping others, karma will repay you in the end, unless you've been one hell of a bastard in life here :O

Donatees must purchase vaults, this can be offset by the members being in a friendly guild in which help can be given, items received can be shared.

Restrictions/Balance

So here we are, the place I know each and every one of you are going to come to and post the most obvious of complaints. So I'll address them before you do:

1)First restriction, is that the items donated should have a special tag that prevents them from being sold on the mp permanently(can only be re-transferred or destroyed). This keeps ppl from selling for profit as this is intended to be a donation, you would not be able to mute/glyph them either. This tag could be viewed as if your viewing items being sold on a mule (Donated Item)

Next, I would recommend that items donated must have a restriction on what can be sent (Mods or Paul can set paramaters on each stat) for example:

Mythical ice III
Spell Damage: 63 to 76
Mana Cost: 25

+49% Enhanced Effect
+33 Max Life
+97 Max Mana
+2 Critical Strike
+1 to 8 Life per Kill

This item would have a restriction by tier on Enhanced Effect, the restriction is no more than 40% EE. This item could not be donated. Subject ofc to Pauls/Mods discretion. This paramter block could be decided by them, or a community poll if necessary. This way godlies are not being donated around the community, and therefore the Market place must still be used for main trades. This of course is to maintain balance and ensure MP fees are not circumvented.

2)Another restriction, is that guilds donating have a max # of items that can be donated in a given week or month (To other guilds, unlimited in their own since they have guild transfer options ofc) This prevents a flood of items going from hither and to, and keeps the servers freed up. I dont think there would be a max use of this suggestion anyways, but Im not going to make assumptions on our community members.

The whole point of this thread as Ive stated already is for community members to step up and be empowered to help others. Its not intended to be a popularity contest, and Ive put alot of thought into how it could be effective, and not unbalance the operations of the current system. For improving guild relations, I think this would be very beneficial, but only the rest of the community can decide this. I ask that you only post constructive feedback, or just leave a no and kindly walk away. Thanks for viewing, after seeing numerous donation threads shot down, I think this is a good way to give everyone want they want.

I think I covered everything in my discussions over vent with a few friends from other guilds, but if you see something I missed, or think of another way to IMPROVE UPON THIS IDEA, then please leave your comments :D

I really like this idea Dion.

I tend to throw a lot of things away because they're nice, but nice enough to be bought off the marketplace.

I would love to see this implemented so I can share the things I find with the community.

It would benefit everyone to share with the newer players in the community to get off their feet and become as addicted as we all are.

Edit: For example, I found two level 15 axes with 49ee and threw them away because they didnt sell for 7fg apiece and were returned to my inventory. Donated items like these could be very beneficial, I clear out space and make someone else happy in the process.

i like the idea alot and voted yes, but i do not think it will get implimented because idk if u would be able to send it to a person name, but i think u need a vault number because that is the person idnumber, which can have problems of ppl sending it to the wrong person. Or some ppl might use it instead of transfering (seems unlikey but it may just happen) but otherwise it seems like a solid idea

Very nice Dion!

I don't even have the best of GG gear and would still take part in this process.

Would definitely open the door to many new slashers!

imo this seems kinda odd
the donatee needing a vault really makes this counterproductive

abstaining from voting for now

Not really any other way to send them the item, and ensure they get it. Makes the process quick, and thats why guild members could help someone to get items. If they are willing to invest fg into getting a vault, Id be more willing to drop them items to use in their climbs. It really only helps them in the long run.

That was the intention, to get the community a way to be more involved with helping others, w/o giving fg out and it being wasted.

This idea is incredible, Dion. Voted yes, of course. Maybe a few kinks that Paul would have to take upon himself to work out, but
otherwise very well thought out and constructed.

I agree. I think this would help keep alot of kids that are struggling when first starting out on LS to stick with it and be able to enjoy the game a little more til they can get themselves on their feet
