Unless you are getting altcoins from a diehard foreign exchange who is at a poor satoshi and has IMMENSE marketing values, it's pretty pointless..
Regulation will rule altcoins eventually through either A: You being a tax payer or B: any negative influences the government has on friend friends,family etcetc. and C: Reputation
