The last entire game I finished was Adventure time Pirates of Echidna it is a cheap short 3rd person much in the style of dragon quest or zelda windwaker ~X.
at first I wouldn't have come back after the first 10 min but my wife asked if we could put it on for the children (yes I'm a verified sex-haver).

It's charming and the voice acting made it effortless to flow through. Almost disappointed when it was over like I didn't believe that would be it.
Tried some other games out like the new mario, new final fantasy. A hat in time. none of which were very compelling or they had many menus, a steep learning curve for my toddler to manage, and I couldn't focus on arguing with strangers on facebook.
Then we found Kena: Bridge of Spirits and WOW that game is spectacular. It looks and feels nice. getting lost doesn't suck too bad. the pets feel more like kodama from studio ghibli than the ni no kuni games from studio ghibli do. lots of environmental detail that breathes though marginally interactive.

haven't finished it because the girls keep getting lost and the difficulty doesn't go low enough but we've turned it on once a week for a few years now.
Ni no kuni 2 kingdom building is really good and satisfies everything with the easy and voice acting, compelling and a good comfy vs anxiety vs stress game loop but I get wrapped up in the kingdom building and side quests.

Long live kodama kingdom
