We bought one that's a powerful dehumidifier on a super sale at BestBuy a few years back. It is not so much an air conditioner as it pulls buckets of water out of the air of our summer's super humid days which we have far too many of those. Gallons of water. That, in turn, helps with our body temperature which is not super saturated due to the humid air. With the humidity lowered, a little fan placed on a desk or nearby does the job of making things comfortable.
What I wonder about, the exhaust heat that leaves the unit and goes out of our home is probably not good for our neighbourhood. Adding heat to a hot day. I need to explore what that may be affecting.
