They are fun to watch and to listen to their squeaks as the sun is setting. There are not many, but their small numbers do help to keep the insect population down.
This following is an example of a heck of a lot of bats. Imagine what they sound like to the people living in the home as the bats move about and squeak.

Bats make up about 20 percent of all mammal species that scientists have discovered so far.
They're the biggest group of mammals by a good margin
So if you were born as a random mammal, you would have had about a 1 in 5 chance of being a bat.

Nice! I like bats.
Cool thing about Vampire bats, if a mother Vampire bat returns and had not had luck with gathering blood for her young...
