From very young, I have always loved these tiny little amphibians. It was in Malone, NY, where a friend introduced them to me as we walked by a creek that ran through their farm land. These little ones remind me of miniaturized dinosaurs or something out of a children's book of fables. Do you have these or any other salamander species near to where you live? What about dragons or dinosaurs? Do have any of those, yet you were told not to tell anyone. Yes, I need to get out more.

I saw one of those giant ones in Tennessee years ago during a thunderstorm, they get pretty big

Texas blind salamander.
So local caverns are a natural attraction and there's field trips for schools etc. Got to see them amongst other stuff.
