I know that some government agencies are currently doing this, especially for online users who access politically sensitive sites. They want to know who these people are, however, current technology does not allow that, so they just collect as much info and data as they can and then hope that one day the computer will become powerful enough to crack whatever is collected.

So, I am wondering, for the average user, is there anything they can do in the mean time, to mitigate this very real threat? I believe that post-quantum cryptography is the potential answer for this but nobody knows when (if) it will become available. So, for the time being, what should one do? I know a few ways to protect one's online identity, such as by using Brave or Tor, use VPN...etc. But I just wonder if there are other ways.

Thanks.

Anyone anywhere can purchase your cell phone data and everything on your phone from your service provider for about 5000 dollars

If they wanted your shit they would have it

Yeah, about that, William actually talked about it for a little bit before he disappeared. He said that there were some soft-wares that could recognize the way you typed. I thought it was both amazing and a bit improbable. because I remember trying to re-register on this site that I was banned from, it kept rejecting me. Now thinking back, this was probably because they recognized me. However, what I don't get is, I wasn't on the forum yet, I wasn't typing and talking to people on the forum. I mean I can understand if I talked like I used to talk and then some bot picked it up, but I wasn't even at that stage yet. I was just trying to register. How could the bot know already who I was?

Based off cookie files or your ip address. Any site you go to leaves files on your pc those files can be used to identify you. It's how some sites remember your password or email. Some sites can even see what you do after you leave the website

No I am pretty sure it's not that because I think (about 95% sure) the laptop was a new one and the IP address was also different. It had been years and we switched the ISP

You know she isn't telling the truth, right? This is all a completely made up story just like the rest of them.
